NYFE Summary

This courthouse replaced the older Tweed Courthouse as the county’s main court building. An initial circular design proved too expensive. After delays during the First World War, a smaller hexagonal plan was built instead.

A broad flight of steps leads to the large columned portico facing Foley Square. Three figures above the pediment represent Law, Truth and Equity. The side walls continue the scale of the front with tall pilasters between the windows.
