NYFE Summary

The builders reused parts of three older buildings. Much of the stone and the front design came from the National Academy of Design, while windows and wall sections came from St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Carved pedestals came from A. T. Stewart’s mansion.

The salvaged pieces were rearranged into a church. Pointed arches and bands of contrasting stone give its walls a pattern drawn from Venetian buildings.
