NYFE Summary

The Seventh Regiment used this building for military training and social gatherings. Its company rooms were furnished much like private clubs. Designers including Louis Comfort Tiffany, Stanford White and the Herter Brothers created interiors with carved wood, stained glass and decorative painting.

Behind those rooms is a large drill hall with no interior columns. Iron arches support its roof, leaving an open floor now used for performances and art installations. Building tours explain the reception and company rooms and provide views of the hall. A tour and an exhibition or performance are separate ways to experience the Armory.
