NYFE Summary

This tower briefly stood above every other building in New York before the Singer Building overtook it. Its offices included the Associated Press and the company that built the city’s first subway. These tenants connected it to both Newspaper Row and the growth of rapid transit.

Two domed towers rise above a broad cornice. Lower down, sculpted figures stand on large brackets between windows and balconies. The heavily decorated street front contrasts with the plainer brick side walls.
