NYFE Summary
The Boathouse is home to the Prospect Park Audubon Center. A partnership between Prospect Park Alliance and Audubon New York created the country’s first urban Audubon center. Its programs use the park itself to teach visitors about birds, plants and the animals that live here.
During scheduled animal encounters, naturalists feed the center’s animals and answer questions about their care and habitats. Bird walks and seasonal nature activities take visitors outdoors. Programs and public opening days vary by season, and schools or other groups need a reservation.
