NYFE Summary

The Regent offered films in a large, decorated theater when many cinemas still used converted shops. Showman Samuel Rothapfel worked here before developing the movie-palace programs associated with his later theaters.

Colored terra cotta, broad arches and open balconies cover the corner. A tall central panel rises above the roofline, giving the former cinema a street front inspired by Italian buildings.
