NYFE Summary
The congregation first met in rented rooms downtown. Donations raised across the Russian Empire helped it build a permanent church. Bishop Tikhon consecrated the building in 1902, and it later became the seat of the Russian Orthodox diocese in North America.
Five onion-shaped domes rise above a brick front edged with pale stone. Blue and gold tile bands, carved leaves and small figures surround the entrance and upper windows. The attached rectory forms part of the composition.
