NYFE Summary

A fire destroyed the congregation’s previous church on this site in 1905. Services continued in a temporary chapel while its replacement was planned. The parish had already rebuilt after an earlier fire at its downtown home.

Carved stone surrounds the Fifth Avenue entrance, with a rose window above and a square tower at the corner. The sanctuary remains a place for worship and choral music. The church’s public calendar also lists guided tours.
