NYFE Summary

A wholesale drug merchant lived here with his wife Angelina and their eight children for nearly forty years. Their neighbor Seabury Tredwell, whose home is now the Merchant’s House Museum, was a relative. The two houses survived as the surrounding area became commercial.

A later roof collapse led to a landmark enforcement case. In 2004 a court ordered the owner to repair and restore the exterior and keep it in good condition. From the street, look for the columned doorway, tall stoop and low attic windows.
