NYFE Summary

The publishing firm brought its offices, magazine work and bookstore together here. The original shop used reading tables and wood fittings to resemble a library. In 1913, Scribner’s moved to another building farther north on Fifth Avenue.

The upper front changes from heavy stonework to broad window bays framed in metal. A balcony and steep roof complete the narrow facade. This is the earlier Scribner building, separate from the former bookstore at 597 Fifth Avenue.
