NYFE Summary

Trinity Parish built this long chapel for congregants living farther uptown. The Serbian Orthodox community later bought it and renamed it for Saint Sava.

Fire on Orthodox Easter in 2016 devastated the building. A later stabilization project reinforced the surviving walls and installed a new steel roof. The pointed entrance, steep front gable and long rows of narrow windows show the earlier church’s shape.
