NYFE Summary

A textile manufacturer commissioned this tower for its New York sales offices. Other fabric businesses rented space here as the industry moved into this part of Midtown. The unusual six-sided outline let daylight reach windows that would otherwise face neighboring lot lines.

Deep green glass and alternating dark and silver metal strips emphasize the tower’s height. The front rises behind a shallow court, while the opposite street face spreads across the lot and steps back above it. The two fronts show different responses to the same narrow site.
