NYFE Summary

Railroad freight, trucks, manufacturing and storage once met inside this full-block building. Trucks entered from West 27th Street and rode large elevators to the upper floors. The system let goods move between the rail terminal and tenants without being unloaded at the curb.

Long bands of windows wrap around the corners between strips of brick and concrete. The horizontal exterior reflects the open industrial floors inside. Street-level food venues now give visitors a reason to stop beside the former freight building.
