NYFE Summary
The Plaza has been both a hotel and a setting in fiction. F. Scott Fitzgerald used it in The Great Gatsby, and the hotel later became the home of the children's-book character Eloise. Real guests included Frank Lloyd Wright, who lived here for several years, and the Beatles during their 1964 visit.
The Palm Court continues the hotel's afternoon-tea tradition. Its palms, trellises and stained-glass dome are part of a later redesign based on the room's history. Visitors can reserve tea without staying at the hotel. Breakfast access follows different rules and is reserved for hotel guests.
