NYFE Summary

The complex offered apartments as this part of Manhattan changed from rows of houses to larger shared buildings. In the late 1890s it became known for housing single women who earned their own living, when their housing choices were limited.

Bands of contrasting brick, rounded windows and projecting corner bays link the three connected buildings. Separate entrances retain traces of the rowhouse form.
