NYFE Summary

Inventor and industrialist William Dzus founded the Ukrainian Institute of America in 1948. The organization moved into this former private mansion in 1955. A house first occupied by financier Isaac Fletcher became a place for Ukrainian art, music, literature and public discussion.

The Institute presents work by artists from Ukraine and the diaspora, along with concerts, films and educational programs. Exhibitions and events give the mansion its present public use. Access follows the program: an exhibition visit and a ticketed performance may have different arrangements. The building is not operated as an unrestricted tour of a former private home.
