NYFE Summary

The club was created to promote literature and art through a library, reading rooms and an art gallery. It later moved from the Jerome Mansion on Madison Square to its present Fifth Avenue home.

Large arched windows divide the granite front. Carved shields sit between the upper openings, and oversized heads mark the arches. Projecting balconies have ornate bronze railings, while deep horizontal bands run around the building.
