Riverdale's 28-acre garden and cultural center can be reached without a car, using complimentary vans from two rail stops.

Wave Hill's shuttle operates Thursday through Sunday from Riverdale Metro-North and Van Cortlandt Park–West 242nd Street on the No. 1 line. Hourly pickups begin at 10:05 a.m. at the railroad station and at 10:25 a.m. near the subway, with final inbound trips at 4:05 and 4:25 p.m., respectively.

The grounds at 4900 Independence Avenue list Tuesday-through-Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with entry ending half an hour before closing. Standard adult admission is $10, and Thursdays are free.
