Jamaica Center takes York College’s name

The E/J/Z terminal’s new name highlights the nearby campus and its role in southeast Queens.

Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer has been renamed Jamaica Center–York College, CUNY announced October 23. The E, J and Z terminal’s name now identifies the nearby college as well as the transit hub.

CUNY says the station connects with 30 bus routes and handles about 23,000 subway riders on an average weekday. About 80 percent of York students rely on public transportation, making the station a significant gateway to campus.
