NYFE Summary

Steamship businesses occupied offices here when lower Broadway was closely tied to the port. Its deep site allowed office space to extend between two streets, with a light court bringing daylight into the center.

The Broadway front has rows of carved columns, decorative panels and a large central entrance. The Greenwich Street side provides another view of the same complex. Its shipping-office history connects the building with the waterfront just beyond the surrounding blocks.
