NYFE Summary

Before it had a permanent home, the museum brought activities to neighborhoods aboard a purple bus. It later moved into a reused powerhouse beside the Harlem River. Art, dramatic play and science activities connect children with the city and natural world around them.

Inside, curved wooden walls divide areas for early learners, community arts and natural sciences. Low partitions let caregivers see across the exhibits. Ramps lead through the space, and tall windows look toward the river.
