NYFE Summary

The center grew from arts activity linked to the first Bronx River Restoration Project. It developed into a place for exhibitions, classes and performances while keeping a connection to the river and its surrounding neighborhoods.

A street-level gallery presents changing contemporary art exhibitions. Public programs also include music, dance and poetry, while classes give children and adults a place to work with drawing, painting and ceramics. Artists use studios elsewhere in the building; those workspaces are not general visitor areas.
