NYFE Summary

British troops used the earlier church as a hospital during the Revolutionary War. American forces attacked soldiers sheltering inside. Two later fires left parts of the old stone walls standing, and those walls were reused when the church was rebuilt.

Rough fieldstone contrasts with brick around the round-arched and circular windows. A square tower ends in an octagonal spire. A stone wall surrounds the churchyard, where colonial gravestones survive.
