NYFE Summary

The congregation traces its origins to Jewish settlers of Spanish and Portuguese descent who arrived in 1654. Its earlier synagogues stood downtown before it moved to this building.

Four tall columns frame three arched openings and a recessed porch. Bronze gates close the openings, and carved wreaths and leaves decorate the stone panels and triangular roofline.
