NYFE Summary

Edward Clark, of the Singer sewing-machine business, financed this apartment house as the neighborhood was developing. A large carriage entrance led into an internal courtyard. Separate entrances around the court served the apartments above.

Look up for the yellow brick, projecting rounded windows and roof crowded with gables and dormers. John Lennon and Yoko Ono later lived here. The Strawberry Fields memorial across the street grew from the city’s decision to honor Lennon near his home.
