NYFE Summary
Three gardens use French, Italian and English designs. Paths connect seasonal planting beds, fountains and a central lawn backed by a wisteria-covered pergola. The north garden contains the Three Dancing Maidens fountain; the south garden has a waterlily pool and a memorial to author Frances Hodgson Burnett.
The garden takes its name from a glass conservatory that once stood here. Its main entrance uses the ornate Vanderbilt Gate, salvaged from the Fifth Avenue mansion of Cornelius Vanderbilt II and donated to the city by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney.
