NYFE Summary
The Decker Piano Company occupied the building when Union Square was a center for music businesses and theaters. Its dense patterns of curved ornament connect it with the early work of Louis Sullivan.
The narrow front stacks limestone, brick and terra cotta above a small ground-floor entrance. Interlocking curves, shaped window arches and metal balconies cover the upper stories. A recessed arcade and an ornate tower finish the top.
