NYFE Summary

The builders used a metal frame inside, while the outside walls carried part of the building’s weight. The stacked arches reflect this mix of older masonry construction and the newer skyscraper frame.

A griffin projects from the corner below the top windows. Carved human faces, lion heads, grapes and curling leaves fill the arches and capitals along both street fronts.
