NYFE Summary

This building combined a commuter station with the offices of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway. The line reached White Plains and Port Chester but never made a profit. After service ended in 1937, part of its route and this building were reused by the city’s transit system.

Two towers frame a row of arches and balconies. Red roof tiles stand out against pale walls. Above the central entrance, a winged head of Mercury recalls the building’s connection to travel and commerce.
