NYFE Summary

Physician and collector Thomas Addis Emmet replaced several houses with wholesale lofts and a penthouse for his home and library. The private collection was part of his residence, rather than a public museum.

Stone columns, gargoyles and small medieval figures decorate the base. Terra-cotta arches and columns continue above it, ending in a steep roof with stepped dormer windows.
