NYFE Summary

The congregation followed Hungarian residents moving uptown from the Lower East Side. Its church joined a neighboring parsonage as a new community base. The design used details associated with Hungarian folk building traditions.

The central tower has a steep conical roof and an orb-shaped weather vane. Paddle-like patterns, rose panels and national shields distinguish the front. Some tile surfaces have since been painted white.
