NYFE Summary
The church has occupied this corner since the Dutch settlement of Midwout. Earlier buildings stood on the same spot, and stone from the second church was reused in the present foundation. The adjoining burial ground records families whose names remain familiar across Brooklyn.
A stone tower rises to a wooden clock lantern and a narrow spire. Round and arched openings contrast with the rough stone walls below. The expanded landmark site also includes the later church house, built as a center for education and community activities.
