NYFE Summary

The branch began with books donated from a nearby parish library. It belonged to a privately supported system that lent books without a membership fee, before the city's large Carnegie branch-building program. The collection later became part of the New York Public Library.

The old library name is cut across the front above a central pair of columns. Round windows flank the upper floor. After the public-library branch moved away, the building became a home for the Ukrainian Academy of Arts and Sciences and its research collections.
