NYFE Summary

Andrew Carnegie helped finance a plan that joined a social club for engineers with a separate headquarters for engineering societies. The clubhouse offered meeting and social rooms as well as sleeping rooms for members. It later became apartments after the club left.

Tall marble pilasters and arched windows form the pale lower front. Red brick and stone-trimmed windows fill the middle stories. Another set of arches near the roof sits below a deeply projecting cornice, giving the narrow building a visible top as well as a base.
