NYFE Summary
Vaudeville operators B. S. Moss and Solomon Brill developed this neighborhood theater as new subway service brought more residents uptown. RKO later converted it for talking pictures. After its last film screening, the building passed through uses including a sports arena and a church.
Large arched windows rise above the shopfronts on both street faces. Small round windows sit inside the arches, while carved supporting figures and columns frame the lower windows. These upper details preserve the outline of an entertainment building whose interior use has changed.
