NYFE Summary
Irish laborers and farm workers helped form this parish. Before it had its own church, a visiting priest held Mass in a blacksmith’s shop. The city later acquired the church property for the York College urban renewal project.
The historic front rises around a narrow brick tower with round-arched openings. Small repeated arches run below the roof edges, and a stone plaque identifies the former church. The preserved front now adjoins a newer building.
