NYFE Summary

The congregation began with a missionary sent to Jamaica in the early eighteenth century. Successive church buildings occupied this site as the town grew. Rufus King and members of his family were parishioners, and he is buried in the churchyard.

Rough sandstone, a steep roof and a pointed spire distinguish the church. The entrance sits beside the tower rather than at the center of a symmetrical front. Old gravestones surround the building, recalling its earlier village setting.
