NYFE Summary

The surrounding farm grew grain, kept livestock and later supplied vegetables to city markets. Enslaved people worked this land before hired farmhands became central to its operation. When the farmland was sold for housing, the family kept its home and a small piece of the original property.

Low wings flank a taller central block, with brick chimneys rising from each section. The main roof changes slope and curves outward over a columned porch. The house still faces south, preserving its earlier orientation within the modern street grid.
