NYFE Summary

Descendants of the Wyckoff family and local preservation advocates worked to save the house from demolition. A later fire caused further damage before restoration returned it to use as a museum. The museum’s records also document slavery in the household, including a bill of sale for an enslaved child named Sam.

Guided visits cover three furnished rooms that show changes in household life from the Dutch colonial period into the early nineteenth century. The surrounding farm and garden support public programs and seasonal activities.
