NYFE Summary

Hostos Community College created the center in 1982 to bring cultural programs to the South Bronx. Its work supports Latino and African-based music, dance and theater. The program brings local audiences into the college’s performance spaces.

The center uses a larger auditorium and the Repertory Theater for its programs. In the smaller theater, rows of seats rise close to the stage. Concerts, films and festivals connect Afro-Caribbean traditions with contemporary performing arts.
