NYFE Summary

The opening of the Queensboro Bridge helped turn this area into a busy commercial center. The Manhattan Company expanded across Queens, and its tower became a familiar sight from the roads and elevated trains around Queens Plaza.

Four glass clock faces carry Roman numerals beneath a crown shaped like a battlement. Small reliefs near the top show the bank’s initials and Oceanus, a figure used as its symbol. Narrow brick stripes emphasize the building’s height.
