NYFE Summary

The company used this office as a display of its products. Terra cotta is fired clay that can be molded into detailed shapes. It offered builders a cheaper alternative to carved stone and helped decorate buildings including Carnegie Hall, the Corbin Building and the Ansonia Hotel.

Twisted chimney pots, decorated window surrounds and carved-looking doorway panels demonstrate what the factory could make. The chimney pots also appeared in its sales catalog. The building once stood in front of a larger manufacturing and shipping complex along the river.
