NYFE Summary

The original post office occupies only part of a much larger block. A later addition continued its stone exterior and expanded the government complex. The older Johnson Street front remains the clearest place to study the first building’s design.

A large entrance arch sits below a gabled group of windows, flanked by small projecting towers. Rough and smooth granite alternate around the openings. The taller corner tower rises through balconies to a steep pointed roof.
