NYFE Summary

Samuel Tilden joined two neighboring houses into a home with a large library. Carved leaves, flowers and portraits of writers cover the front. The projecting windows and bands of colored stone can be seen from the sidewalk.

The arts club moved here in 1906. It had admitted women as full members from its founding and brought together people working in different arts. Changing gallery exhibitions, readings, concerts and talks continue that program.
