NYFE Summary

The Panhellenic Association created this residence for college-educated women working in the city. It combined rooms with shared social spaces at a time when suitable housing for single professional women was limited.

A narrow tower rises in steps above the lower wings. Carved reliefs decorate the street-level walls. The building's original purpose adds a history of women's employment and housing to a stop that can be made from the sidewalk.
