NYFE Summary
Paramount combined its East Coast film-company offices with a large movie theater here. The stepped tower was designed to make the company visible above Times Square. Four clock faces use five-pointed stars for the hours, recalling the Paramount trademark.
A glass globe crowns the tower. The clock and globe were blacked out during the Second World War and later restored. They remain visible above Broadway’s signs, linking the present street with its earlier movie-palace district.
