NYFE Summary

The bank was one of the institutions that helped establish Montague Street as Bank Row. Its front combines a deep columned porch with a sculpted triangular pediment. The design associated banking with the monumental forms used for public buildings.

Each of the four fluted columns was cut from a single block of marble. Carved foliage, lions’ heads and figures decorate the upper front. Large windows fill the spaces behind the columns.
