NYFE Summary

The Department of Docks and Harbor Police used this pier as a waterfront headquarters. It later served other municipal agencies, including the fire department. The clock installed in its tower in 1919 commemorated World War I.

Long rows of windows run beneath the low roof, ending at the clock tower. Metal cladding and the narrow structure reflect the building’s working-pier origins. A restoration completed in 2014 preserved much of the exterior.
