NYFE Summary
This was the Chanin organization’s first Broadway theater. Its design brought ticket holders through one entrance instead of separating them by seating level. The orchestra’s rear rows rose steeply above the entrance lobby to improve views of the stage.
The former Forty-Sixth Street Theatre was renamed for Richard Rodgers in 1990. Its history includes musicals such as Anything Goes and Guys and Dolls. A lobby gallery holds memorabilia connected with the composer’s career.
