NYFE Summary
The building combined artists’ workspaces with living quarters. Its plan fitted tall studios alongside smaller rooms for kitchens and bathrooms, rather than stacking ordinary apartments on identical floors.
The large windows on West 57th Street reveal the original studio layout. Small cast-iron canopies interrupt the glass, while molded ornaments frame the upper floors. The name honors sculptor Auguste Rodin.
